RJO Produce Marketing Introduces Ground Breaking “Bird Dog Quality” Scoring System (BDQ™) To Classify and Score the Quality of Fresh Produce Then Measure it Over Time!
June 4, 2012
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA - The New BDQ™ Scoring System is a High-Tech Extension of the RJO “Bird Dog App”, Dedicated to Providing Clients the Best Information, the Best Products…at the Best Price.
RJO Produce Marketing - a national leader in fresh produce, providing independent representation and field-based quality management – announced today that they have completed development of their Bird Dog Quality™ Scoring System (BDQ™). BDQ™ is an extension of RJO’s highly acclaimed Bird Dog inspection program and will be able to track product quality today and over time. The proprietary system allows the Bird Dog Inspectors to input a broad range of quality characteristics for each commodity and variety; from size, color and solidity to brix and overall appearance. Each characteristic is instantly coded and assigned a BDQ™ Score. This score allows RJO customers the ability to review details of each purchase and adjust their marketing and merchandising to maximize their sales. These scores can measure quality against the market and over time.
“This system will greatly enhance the way our clients do business” said Rob O’Rourke at RJO Produce Marketing. He added, “We developed the BDQ™ system to enhance the efficiencies of our Bird Dogs and speed the delivery of critical information to our customers, allowing them the ability to invest with confidence - giving them the peace of mind that they’re receiving exactly what they expect from their grower partners. An extension is the ability to track quality against the market and from one season to the next. The sooner our clients understand the impact quality is having on their businesses, the quicker they can do something about it. We believe that information equates to increased profits when used properly. RJO fulfills that critical need for our customers. If It’s Bird Dog Quality™… it’s quality they can count on.”
